What is in general the process / job description?
The purchasing assistant supports global category team and local purchasing units in all of Europe in daily transactional activities. Category teams are responsible for sourcing direct materials, indirect materials, services and logistics on an international or global scale. Local purchasing units tend to the day-to-day business and transactions between Henkel and its suppliers. These teams need your support and contribution to achieve the overall objectives. You will interact with colleagues from all over the world to ensure a smooth sourcing process, from onboarding a new supplier, through setting up all relevant information in various databases to processing orders. Excellent execution of these transactional activities is critical for achieving the objectives of cost saving, compliance and sustainability.
This could be your typical day!
You as assistant will be responsible for setting up and maintaining new suppliers in our systems, maintaining data related to individual materials (such as price, delivery or payment terms) or creating purchase orders based on requests from all over Europe (mainly in SAP). You will process requests relating to the above topics from other purchasing colleagues as well as suppliers themselves.
